The killing of Chris Ohizu, the sole administrator of Imo State’s Ideato North Local Government Area, by unknown gunmen has been condemned by Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party.
Recall that Ohizu was beheaded by kidnappers after they had collected a ransom of N6 million.
The gunmen insisted in a video posted online on Sunday that there would be no election in Nigeria.
According to a source from the local government area who spoke with Punch, the killers of Ohizu posted videos of their victim’s beheading on his WhatsApp status.
In response to the killing, the LP candidate condemned it on his verified Twitter page while also expressing condolences to the victim’s family.
Things like this, according to the former Anambra governor, should not happen, and insecurity in the Southeast remains a source of concern.
In his words:
I condemn the gruesome killing of Christopher Ohizu, the Ideato North LGA chairman. Things like these ought not to happen. Insecurity remains a cause of concern. I commiserate with the IMSG and the family of the deceased. -PO
