OSMA Awards Visionary, Co-Founder and Executive Producer, Ayodele Ojo Calls for Government Support ahead of 10th Edition, Emphasizes the need for cash or gift backing for each category of awards.

At the 9th OSMA Awards, held on October 13, 2024, at the Amazing Place Event Centre, Akure, Executive Producer Ayodele Ojo passionately addressed the lack of government support for the event, which has now spanned nine editions without any sponsorship from governmental bodies. Despite submitting numerous letters for sponsorship and linking up with key figures in entertainment and tourism, the OSMA Awards have yet to receive backing from the government.

In his speech, Ayodele Ojo highlighted the importance of government involvement, especially as the 10th edition approaches, urging the authorities to finally step in and support the milestone event. "We’ve done this for nine years, and while we’ve had support from like ODIRS, it’s time for the government to come through for us," he said.

Ayodele also took time to thank the brands who have supported the OSMA Awards since its inception, helping to make it a major platform for recognizing and rewarding talent in Nigeria's music industry. Special recognition was given to ODIRS for their consistent support over the years.

He expressed deep gratitude to the OSMA Awards officials and team members for their dedication, making each edition better than the last.

Ayodele also reflected on the growth of Afrobeats, emphasizing how far the genre has come and how it has become a global force that deserves greater cultural and governmental support.

The ceremony featured a massive red carpet event and showcased stunning cultural performances. The Consolidating Afrobeats theme song was energetically performed by Exteria, King Harrashy, Revelation Tharapman and Samuel Deslot. Additional performances included Juzzy Smizz's performance of *Watch Your 6* ft. Drizzy Dave and S2DK, captivating the audience throughout the night.

With the 10th edition on the horizon, Ayodele Ojo dropped strong hints of something even bigger, building anticipation for what promises to be the most exciting and groundbreaking OSMA Awards yet.
