The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has proudly announced that seven of its academic staff members have been named among the top 2% of leading scientists globally.

This achievement shines a bright spotlight on the university’s dedication to academic excellence and research.

UNILORIN Scholars on the List

The seven outstanding scholars are recognised for their contributions to their respective fields.

Among them is Prof. Kayode John Oyewumi from the Department of Physics, a former Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences.

Another distinguished academic is Prof. Musa Toyin Yakubu of the Biochemistry Department, the immediate past Dean of Student Affairs.

Dr George Adewale Adeniyi, from the Department of Chemical Engineering, is also listed, having previously earned the title of UNILORIN Researcher of the Year.

Additionally, Dr Mufutau Opeyemi Bello and Dr Folorunso M. Ajide from the Department of Economics were named on the list.

Dr Joseph Bamidele Awotunde of the Department of Computer Science and Dr Melody Okereke from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences complete the group of recognised scholars.
