The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) has done it again, achieving remarkable success.



The Department of Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) at UNIMED, Ondo State, recorded a 100% pass rate in the recent professional exams conducted by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).

The exams took place on 22nd and 23rd of August 2024, and all students passed, showing their hard work and dedication.

Department of Medical Laboratory Science Success

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences hosted the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, which presented 41 students for the exams.

Every student passed, showcasing both their determination and the commitment of the faculty.

Dr. Samuel Oyedeji, the Head of Department, highlighted the efforts of the staff in guiding the students.

He said that this achievement would not be possible without the dedication of the team and the timely support from the management in providing necessary equipment.

He appreciated both the students and the management, stating that it was a combined effort.

“The support of the management in creating a proper learning environment through provision of equipment has been vital,” said Dr. Oyedeji.


Vice-Chancellor Commends the Achievement

The Vice-Chancellor of UNIMED, Professor Adesegun Fatusi, congratulated the department for this accomplishment.

He noted that this was not the first time the university showed such excellence.

The Faculty of Nursing Science has also set a precedent by maintaining a 100% pass rate in their exams.

Professor Fatusi said, “The success of the Medical Laboratory Science students follows the trend set by our Nursing Science Faculty.”

He stressed that this success represents not just the students but the entire department and the university.
